We are delighted to be opening Fountains Fell Barn in July
It is our aim that your holiday at Fountains Fell Barn will be a refreshing and relaxing experience, and we’re working hard to implement new measures to make the barn safe for our community of guests, cleaners and neighbours, while retaining the charm of a rustic barn stay.
Our ‘Covid-19 secure’ cleaning regime
The cleanliness of Fountains Fell Barn is paramount to us. We engage a local reputable cleaning company and they have completed their COVID Guard/Secure, have developed new Safe Working Practices and have undertaken fresh Risk Assessments following the latest advice from the hospitality industry, Public Health England and the Government – to this end, we will be deploying extra hygiene measures such as cleaning and disinfecting high contact areas of the property including door handles, light switches, appliances etc. as well as spraying the sofa, curtains etc with anti-bacterial disinfectant spray. We also engage a professional laundry company who will wash our bed linen and towels to the highest standards.
During this time, we will be removing non-essential decorative soft furnishings including cushions and throws from the bedrooms.
Check-in will be a contact free experience. Guests are now welcome to arrive anytime from 5pm on the arrival day, while departure is by 9am on the final day. We will be asking guests to strictly adhere to these times, which will be crucial to ensuring that we have enough time to clean the barn following the Government physical distancing rules and adopting the new additional cleaning protocols (these timings have become the new industry standard in the area).
Keys are to be collected from the keysafe (code to be provided) and we will be carefully disinfecting them each time.
Inside the barn, we will be keeping to our high standards of presentation. All kitchenware and crockery will be clean but not sanitised so we will be recommending that guests rewash items in the dishwasher or hot, soapy water before use if they have concerns. We will be providing sanitising handwash, alcohol hand gel, and anti-bacterial wipes and sprays for guests use, and would encourage guests to sanitise their hands upon arrival back into the barn following visits out in the community.
We have decided to continue to provide books, board games, DVDs and Wii games but as we won’t be able to sanitise each individual item during a changeover, we ask guests to wipe them using the sanitising wipes provided and wash their hands thoroughly after use. We will not be providing information leaflets at this time, so for these please visit the local tourist information centres in Cromer or Mundesley – or browse the websites www.visitnorfolk.co.uk and www.tournorfolk.co.uk .
We will continue to offer a fully equipped kitchen with store cupboard staples, tea, coffee and sugar. If you have any concerns, please avoid using them or help yourself to the sanitising wipes provided.
Our guest handbook folder detailing important information about the barn will be presented in a wipeable folder with laminated sheets. We will have duplicate folders so that we can rotate them between stays and ensure each is clean for new guests.
If, during a stay, there is an exceptional reason why we or a trusted contractor may need to visit the barn (for example an emergency repair), we will inform guests with as much notice as possible and adhere to all Government physical distancing rules.
We ask that guests are sensitive to the concerns of our neighbours and local communities, and mindful of the sometimes-limited medical or shopping facilities in remote locations by maintaining social distancing.
We will be asking guests to help us by letting us know immediately if anyone in their party develops symptoms of Covid–19 and that you follow the Government ruling and all return home immediately where you can access your own medical services and receive support from your own network of friends and family.
Finally, to help with our efforts to protect everyone, we would ask guests to please strip the linen from their beds, and to put them along with any bath and hand towels used into the bath in the main bathroom ready for our cleaners to bag up. We also kindly ask you to please empty the fridge/freezer and remove your rubbish at the end of a stay, and any used crockery etc is put into the dishwasher and turned on so that it is clean for when our cleaners arrive.
Thank you. Your help is much appreciated.
